HISTORY :
Already in the time of the Egyptians, honey bread was a very popular dish. Its origin goes back a long way in history.
It appeared in China in the Middle Ages and a little later in Europe. It is absolutely essential to buy our gingerbread spice mix if you want to make a successful honey cake! Just add 8 to 20g per kilo of flour to obtain a more or less flavoured result according to your taste.
Our gingerbread spice mix is not only for special use, you can also add it to your compotes, to spice up certain jams or in the custard of an apple or plum pie.
COOKING :
A reminder for the gingerbread recipe: Oil your mould. Preheat your oven to gas mark 7 (200°c).
In a bowl mix 300g flour, 50g brown sugar, 1 tablespoon gingerbread mix, 1⁄2 sachet yeast, a pinch of salt.
Then stir in 10 cL of hot milk and 120g of previously melted butter. Finish with 300g of honey to make a smooth mixture.
Pour the batter into the tin and bake! Bake for 35 minutes!
Suggestion: Foie gras and onion jam are excellent companions for gingerbread !!!!!!!
