HISTORY :
The senna is native to sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. It is a shrub of the family
caesalpiniaceae family. The ancient Egyptians used it in combination with aloe vera to purge themselves. À
Renaissance, it was used to fight against temporary constipation.
PROPERTIES :
The WHO considers senna leaves as an effective treatment against constipation
occasional constipation. Senna is also used against cough and fever.
In Indian medicine, senna is used to fight liver pathologies:
anemia, jaundice, liver infection, ...
A cure of senna should not exceed 8 days.
The infusion of senna can be used as rinsing water for the hair to nourish them and to
to make them shine.
COOKING :
Put 1 to 2 teaspoons of senna in a cup with hot water and let infuse
10 minutes.
