HISTORY :

Nigella is a Eurasian plant of the Ranunculaceae family. Its small bluish flowers are very elegant. Its name is mentioned in the Bible. One of Mohammed's prophets also mentions it, which makes it a plant dear to Muslims. It is called the remedy of the Pharaohs, who saw in it a panacea for the ills of the afterlife.

PROPERTIES :

Black cumin treats all skin problems and inflammation or irritation: acne, eczema, chapping, dryness, warts and even sunburn. It acts on cholesterol levels and diabetes when administered internally. It is beneficial to the respiratory system.

COOKING :

Nigella seeds have a taste that is both pungent and bitter. The finest palates will detect a note of strawberry! They can be used whole, crushed or roasted. Nigella seeds are used to season traditional Moroccan dishes, such as tagines and couscous, and Indian dishes, such as rice and fish. Moroccans use black cumin seeds in their daily bread.
